OSCAR WORTHY COUTURE

Those visitors to my blog who are new, I have to say that I have two of the most favorite fashion designers ever. On the one side of the scale, it is Alexander McQueen who was so avant-garde in his aesthetic that even today a fashion has a gap that has never really been fulfilled ( Sarah Burton is doing amazing work in after Lee era, but her style aspirations are in the totally different level that is still admirable. And on the other scale end, there is the design of Elie Saab!

Elie Saab has definitely that what the concept of the pure glamour attraction holds. When I think of how the glamour should look-alike in the Couture aspect, his work is definitely something that I am always leaning towards!

It is really stunning how the concept of fashion beaut fades away in the case of Elie Saab. Just as you thought that the level of gorgeousness has peaked, he delivers the collection that shows the opposite!

That was the case in Spring/Summer 2020 Haute Couture collection. This collection alludes at his beginnings when his Couture was all in the fine embroidery, luxurious fabrics, and fluid forms! If you need an introduction to Elie Saab's Couture legacy, well this collection is the perfect one to see!

From the pure feminine silhouettes, the rich yet refined silver and lustrous golden to textures, to the big bows structured and placed strategically just to tone down the deep cut gowns' spirit!

Since in the few weeks the Oscars are on, it would be really a big waste if any of the celebrities won't be wearing one of these ensembles. With Elie Saab, you can never go wrong and yet you step out from the conventional beauty into the more star-studded area! Fingers crossed that the stylists will have an eye on this collection!

What do you think about this collection? Do you think any of these gowns will be a star of this year's awards season?

Thank you for your attention!

WHO RUNS THE COUTURE? VALENTINO✨

Seems like lately the Haute Couture is having a bit of a moment, a renaissance if I can be precise. If we take a glimpse into this year's Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris, we can see that the collections we're much more heterogeneous in the visual sense, from the structures, silhouettes, colors. Before that Couture was in the "shackles" of a casual trend that was all over the fashion scene from the runway to your social media timeline.

And then came Pierpaolo Piccioli as the creative director of the house Valentino! At first, you could resemble that he knows how the Couture spirit is needed to be built. He started to bring the volume on the sleek and simplified silhouettes echoing the old but good and classic Couture spirits. Then he added to all of that a dash of the coloristic versatile options. Color and volume that he mastered amazingly have formed the start of re-newed 'belle epoque' of Couture.

Well, that kind of vibes were all over this season's Paris Fashion Week. And if you thought that Piccioli will deliver you the same art-code, well, you were wrong. In the Spring/Summer 2020 collection he went quite opposite and had created the totally oxymoronic collection from everything we have seen from him in the house of Valentino!

The silhouette this time was simplified, interrupted by the combination mixed with the mostly trousers and glamorous top. The dresses were on the same trace of this duality: the low-cut hearted corsets paired with the pencil formatted skirts. This screams of freshness, simply beautiful Couture that is somehow different yet so Valentino!

This collection has set again, the new standards in Haute Couture. And whilst some designers will try to copy that, Pierpaolo Piccioli will have a new inspiration ace up his sleeve! And that is why we can for sure say, Valentino runs Couture, no doubt that!

What do you think about this collection?Do you find this Valentino sets the standards for Couture in general?

Thank you for your mention!

COUTURE SALVATION BY GIAMBATTISTA VALLI

There is something about Haute Couture that is magical and empowering. When you think about the aesthetic that is fantastic, intriguing and fascinating. The reason why I started this blog because of my love for Couture. It seems that lately, or in the last decade, Haute Couture has seen better days. Take a look at the red carpets and you will find a zero of memorable moments. But with the latest collections from this season Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris, it seems like the salvation is on the way!

At least that is how we can interpret the latest Spring/Summer 2020, Haute Couture collection by Giambattista Valli. Since day one, he successfully delivers that Couture genius spirit that is totally enchanting and pretty amazing.

From the rich yet soft silhouettes that adore being boosted by the thousands and thousands of fabrics yet so neat in the realization that we can talk about the "Valli silhouette". If you add to all of that the rich coloristic solutions from vibrant yellow, pastels, reds and pinks, you get the perfect couture dream.

In this collection that dream was elevated even more with the absence of the famous ruffles and giving us more of the soft and sculpted volume. This enters in the totally experimental area where everything is screaming about Couture extraordinary! In the fabric sense, the satin has stepped too replacing the famous chiffon materials. But don't worry, there were those famous Valli dresses with the sugar-coated experience in the visual sense just to undertone that famous GV couture spirit!

This collection promises a lot and it could be considered an as the salvation of that extra couture that has still been absent today! There is hope, there is talent, there us Giambattista Valli!

What do you think about this collection? Do you find it different than the others from Valli design?

CHRISTIAN DIOR HAUTE COUTURE SS 2020 COLLECTION

Today is the day when the most exciting week for any fashion lover starts! Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris. And of course, the first post from it is still fresh and coming from the runway as I am writing this! The Spring/Summer 2020 by Christian Dior aka by Maria Grazia Chiuri. She has got that "classic" Dior style that has become so epic and well taken and received by the fashion consumers.

The effortless chic is what has become a style code and entity for Dior in Maria Grazia Chiuri's direction. It seems like this kind of mode she has transferred into the Haute Couture genre.

The juxtaposition of this collection could be summed up in the ancient golden girl theme. From the texture that is Aurelius alike grounded to the cuts and forms that remind us of the elevated toga versions with plenty of ruffles and micro-refined waves entities in materials and fabrics.

The absence of there's and soft silhouettes is diminished by the more rigorous and sculpted forms. That has for the imperative a more detailed design that appears structured even in the department of fringes. They seem heavy in the realization which the only undertones the high festive note and side of this collection.

The Haute Couture Week has begun and it has offered us plenty of exciting things, at least in the case of Dior. The step back from the androgynous beauty to the more feminine one that bursts in luxury from the textures to the colors yet looks really strong and emancipated. That is a new Dior and we love it!

What do you think about this collection? Do you think this Couture Fashion Week will offer something new and innovative?

BOHO CHIC BOOST BY SAINT LAURENT

Saint Laurent is all about being gorgeous and glamorous yet effortlessly trendy. The silhouettes that Saint Laurent operates are rather sleek and tight yet so casually imaginable. The famous "Le Smoking" version has become the androgynous syntactic of style where the creative director of Saint Laurent Antonio Vaccarello has found the fashion strive of his aesthetic.

It seems like for the latest Resort 202 collection he has gone a step further in his creative vision of a woman. Resort collections are usually the ones where the designer can reach towards the edgier and experimentally friendly editions. It seems like in this collection that step was risky but so admirable.

The juxtaposition of the punchline was in the boho theme that goes so amazing with the rest of Saint Laurent's style vision. The flirty and softened version of what Saint Laurent we know was inhabited with traditional all-black ensembles with plenty of ruffles at the ends of sleeves, the laced textures that were incorporated into this whole thing.

The dresses were a mini skirt on the sleek with the disturbances of masculine softened shirts and tuxedos. For the evening wear, Antonio Vaccarello has to give all embellished with the chunky glitters in gold and silver!

This collection has offered a new spirit of Saint Laurent for the fashionistas and girls who love fashion and idol more assertive but still style star-worthy ensembles! This collection offers that and more hitting and crossing their usual style guide to the more flexible essence. And that is what a true Resort is all about!

What do you think about this collection? Do you find it inspirational enough and which look do you like the most?
