Haute couture has so many amazing features and forms. In this post I will take my adoration for couture to the next level, and take a closer look to the textures of haute couture. Textures are among the silhouettes the most important thing when talking about couture outlooks. If we take a detailed look in it, we can see that it is hard, tiny, micro work, which makes haute couture so exqusit and reasonable high ended.
The textures can be ornamented in so many ways. They are made by the tinest floral prints, chiffon layers making it very subtle and gentle. Or it can be bold and decadent in form of feathers, playful fringes or wavy silky fatures. The opulence in texture is made in sculpted varieties, very stiffed and hard embellished. The three-D factor is also very strong imitating real birds´ feathers and wings or any form hidden in flora and phauna of real nature.
The textures in haute couture are very astonishing, breathtaking and amazingly made. It makes one reason more for adoration of haute couture, remembering us constantly why we love it so much and why I write about it so enthusiastic.

SARAH BURTON ERA
If you have read some of prevoius posts of mine you already know that my all time favorite couturier and designer is Alexander McQueen! He was the reason I started my blog, who woke the passion for haute couture, so my blog is really made with a true dedication and loving memory of Lee which is still and always be missed. I had really struggles to accept the new designer that had stepped into his place and that was and still is Sarah Burton. First of all, I have to say that I admire her guts and artistic courage to stand at place of pure haute couture genius, McQueen. So in today´s post I will say my impressions about Burton´s work.
If we take a closer look at her work we will see that Sarah Burton is successfully drives Lee´s path, making haute couture which has that typical Mcqueen´s signature. Although she is not so courageouss like Lee in her visual performances, she continues to follow the main characteristics of Mcqueen couture style. And that would be opulent and enriched silhouettes, with very decadent vibes. As well as hint of fetishism can be seen and we all know that fetishes were very common highlights in original Alexander McQueen era. She is not so into provocation, you can feel that it is not her signature vibe, but she makes gorgeous cut outs with a hint of avant gard-ish influences.
Is Sarah Burton a perfect choice for Alexander McQueen?! Well, if you ask me, and keep on mind that I deeply and seriously cherish Alexander McQueen´s work, I think that she is not a perfect but rather a good choice. I think in artistic and expressional way it can be so much better, maybe to take risk and go with more originally self-portrayed twist, so we could have a whole new experience in perception sense. But maybe that was only possible with Lee on board. Maybe big Mcqueen era has left with Lee, or maybe let su hope, there is another "savage beauty" lover out there who will write a totally new chapter in house of McQueen! Until then we have to enjoy in Sarah Burton´s work which is, great and impecable, no doubt.
What do you think about Sarah Burton´s era and her work for Alexander Mcqueen?

"FEMINIST MANIFESTO" BY VIVIENNE WESTWOOD
I was part of another collaboration with http://www.revuu.it./ It is great fashion and lifestyle app that you can download and enjoy amazing editorials made by bloggers and curators. The theme of last editorial of mine was Alexander McQueen and this current one is about Vivienne Westwood. You know how she is avant garde not just in fashion but in common social sense, so I have named it "Feminist Manifesto", so you can go to revuu.it and check it out. It celebrates the power of woman, her strenghts and believes, all captioned in amazing fashion photos. So I will dedicate this post to the true "rebelesse femme" of couture, Vivienne Westwood!
If anyone is couture-ish, if anyone makes dramatic and know how to make couture drama vibes than that is Viv. Her fashion work is reflection of her believes about society in general so she was and still is a grandiose rebel. She was a pioneer of subculture movement, called punk! And that fact defenitely had a great impact on her couture art.
What I love about her way of expression is that it is fearless, bold, she is not affraid of mixing concepts of life, art, pop-culture. And from all those mixed pieces we have ingenuine conglomerate of beautiful couture as a result. Mentioning punk, she was first desiger who incorporated and brought it in mainstream fashion pushing well known boundaries of haute couture.
She loves to correspondet to tradition so one of her trade mark are tartan patterns. She incorporates them in couture, making finest ensembles, all of that featured by voluminous down parts of gowns. Only Vivienne can make a glamorous wedding dress inspired by this scottish trade mark still looking gorgeous and breathtaking. Her art is brave, decadent but still elegant and on every fashion enthusiast´s "the best off" list. I think that is still the great thing about Britain´s fashion. It´s original, brave and full of experiment in visual way.
Talking about wedding dress, her work, a one particular piece, was featured in the famous fashion movie, "Sex And The City I". A stunning wedding dress worn by Sarah-Jessica Parker, was a such memorable moment, an instant all over globe recognizable move. More than that one designer couldn´t wish! But Vivienne is not about that, about fame or glory. She is her couture, she lives through her fashion expression and that´s the most important thing avoiding tendency drama, filtrating it in pure art.
What are your impressions and thoughts about Vivienne Westwood´s work? Do you like her edgyness, do you find it interested and glamorous?

GIORGIO ARMANI - BACK TO BASICS
There are so many famous names at couture scene that are still
succesfully creative and on the right high end fashion path. One of them
is designer who is very long in fashion industry and never failed so
far in his creative vibe and fashion expression. The word is about
Giorgio Armani! He is famous for his clean cutted tayloring, simple but
glamorous with accentuated italian chic. What I love about Armani´s
couture, which is totally different from embroidery featured design made
by Elie Saab, for example, or other like I love to call "belle
couture" designers, is that his mode of couture expression is very
elegant, simple and crystal clear. When you decide to wear Armani´s
piece, you are never fail to be a star of ultimate elegance.
When talking about clean and simple cutted Armani couture, what caughts eye is the silhouette which is sleek and simple. What is stunning about this is that even in this kind of featured expression of style his couture is firework of glamour and ultimative "red carpet star" potential! The colouring of the materials is usually monochrome, compacted by two, or three the most, colors. Black is his ultimative expression color, like red is for Valentino. But don´t let the simplicity fool you! He is the master of perfect tayloring. That is why his creations are so on point: He sure makes with minimalistic touch the most breathtaking and compact glam which is eternal.
A year ago, InStyle magazine asked on Twitter (@fashbliss is my profile name, if you like to stop by, thank you very much :) to post any question to Mr. Armani! I remembered asking him what is the most influential leading inspiration for him, and he answered that to him the guidance for his work was woman´s beauty. Simple as that! Well if anyone has ever captioned the ultimate female beauty in all her glory is probably Armani´s fashion. In his by simplicity boosted kind of way he reveals woman´s femininity in the best possible way!
What do you think about Giorgo Armani´s couture?
