NEW COUTURE SPIRITS FROM GIVENCHY

Sarah Waight Keller has been in Givenchy as the creative director for two years. After the big moment of designing the wedding dress for HRH Meghan Markle seems like the name of this British designer on the top of the famous French fashion house has been boosted and the expectations from her were definitely higher than ever. Seems like Sarah Waight Keller has not been amazed or feared by that fact, so she decided to go further in her artistic designer escapades.

The latest Fall 2019 Haute Couture collection was created in that kind of direction. A little more playful, bolder, sassier and aesthetically different. The hybrid from the already known Waight Keller fashion codes was the mixture of the volume that was on the more sculpted side with the hints of the extravaganza pure in the form of feathers and fringed appliques. The play of the textures and the forms here was satisfied perfectly in the collision with the wearable and factor of approaching directions.

The tweedy materials as we saw it at the beginning of the show with the stiff three-quarter sleeves in the correspondence with the sleek figure and the more casual silhouette. Or the all-the-way explorative bubbly-form on the top of the clean vertical obliques. Seems like the diversity was a huge "Spiritus Movens" for this collection if you ask Sarah Waight Keller. In addition to that was displayed a gorgeous cape-gown in the powdery pink. The monumentality of this ensemble at the almost statuesque kind of way was definitely the highlight of the collection!

The heterogenic approach was kept on the radar with the feathery opulence gown or the two-piece one made from the disco-glitter embellishment jacket and the crinoline alike skirt. The oxymoronic nature of this look was definitely that new kick in the visual sense for the house of Givenchy.

Not to mention the latest ones from the runway, the wedding dress at the very end as the final conclusion of the collection that was totally different from what we could expect, far away from the clean lines and more on the pure Couture side, or the structured gowns featured with the astonishing prints! So many diversities and exciting creations that have set Sarah Waight Keller in the line of the very promising Couturiers! And that is for the world of couture a big thing!

What are your thoughts about this collection? Do you like the work by Waight Keller for Givenchy so far?

SAY IT WITH COUTURE BY MAISON MARGIELA

Maison Margiela is definitely on the extravagant side of Haute Couture. In the fashion concept, if we look in general, also, is the striking opposite of what fashion mainstream serves us. And yes, when it comes to John Galliano, the creative director of Maison Margiela, he is a designer that is concerned more on the deconstructive side of the fashion and the interpretation of it, giving us the perfect spectrum of what society in general looks like today.

The first look from the Haute Couture 2019 collection was on that strike and even more. The open and on purpose visible stitches and cuts on the mini-coat that could be considered as the Pellerin paired with the crunchy nylon trousers a.k.a stocks giving this whole alternative look a note of un-traditional and subversive. And yes, subversive is something that John Galliano in his work adores when it comes to the work for Maison Margiela.

The second look was in the famous "deconstructed de-coated" mannerism where the coat was turned vice-verse and by that, it has become the classic item with the un-traditional display. The playful and edgy concept of fashion is something that is so known for Maison Margiela. For this fashion house, the design more than just that. It is the way of the interpretation of our society in the deeper and much thought-through way. The play with the recipient's expectation is something that requires great Couture skills and John Galliano has proven a long time ago that he has it!

He has proven also that he knows how to make the stunning pieces. The few of these kinds of ensembles were displayed in this collection too. The gorgeous gowns made of aquarelle-alike printed silk and organza with the deep cut corset on the decollete with the glorious voluminous dress alluring the softness and the delicacy of butterfly wings or the "mariposa" state of mind in our society. There is definitely something crisp and assertive yet bold and upfront with the concept of Maison Margiela and it transfers into the concept of our social climate!

What are your thoughts about this collection? Do you like the concept of the more experimentative and extravagant Haute Couture and fashion in general?

Thank you for your attention!
