New York Fashion Week has been going on for the last few days. Plenty of fashion designers have presented their collections, some of them were the new names, some of them were the epitome of New York Fashion Week elite! In this last concept, the name of Oscar de la Renta has been involved highly as the most remarkable and promising. And still after a few years that Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia have been on the head of this fashion house, the name of Oscar de la Renta as the synonym of the high glam, is definitely something to be admired at!
The collection for Spring/Summer 2020 was definitely in the famous range of causal beauty and impeccable style! If we add to all of that the modernity that has come along with this creative directing duo, we need to say that this collection was really a little masterpiece! From the light and silky textures that required the breezy freshness as the final result, or the more conceptual ones brought in the form of the laced features that accentuated Latin vibe that this fashion name holds on to, in Oscar de la Renta they have really nailed it!
Especially when it comes to the evening dresses. They were more sculpting in the volume as well as the bolder in the forms. The organza fabric has accentuated not only the gorgeousness of it all but the deep cuts on the side as well as the seductive note of the corsets that in this case, they looked light, unbothered and free! Definitely, a collection that has embodied the Oscar de la Renta spirit with the new hints of the style evolution which Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia have no doubt brought! Perfect and suave, what else could we ask for!
What do you think about this collection? Do you like the style that lately Oscar de la Renta has been delivering? Which look do you like the most?
Thank you for your attention!

NEW COUTURE SPIRITS FROM GIVENCHY
Sarah Waight Keller has been in Givenchy as the creative director for two years. After the big moment of designing the wedding dress for HRH Meghan Markle seems like the name of this British designer on the top of the famous French fashion house has been boosted and the expectations from her were definitely higher than ever. Seems like Sarah Waight Keller has not been amazed or feared by that fact, so she decided to go further in her artistic designer escapades.
The latest Fall 2019 Haute Couture collection was created in that kind of direction. A little more playful, bolder, sassier and aesthetically different. The hybrid from the already known Waight Keller fashion codes was the mixture of the volume that was on the more sculpted side with the hints of the extravaganza pure in the form of feathers and fringed appliques. The play of the textures and the forms here was satisfied perfectly in the collision with the wearable and factor of approaching directions.
The tweedy materials as we saw it at the beginning of the show with the stiff three-quarter sleeves in the correspondence with the sleek figure and the more casual silhouette. Or the all-the-way explorative bubbly-form on the top of the clean vertical obliques. Seems like the diversity was a huge "Spiritus Movens" for this collection if you ask Sarah Waight Keller. In addition to that was displayed a gorgeous cape-gown in the powdery pink. The monumentality of this ensemble at the almost statuesque kind of way was definitely the highlight of the collection!
The heterogenic approach was kept on the radar with the feathery opulence gown or the two-piece one made from the disco-glitter embellishment jacket and the crinoline alike skirt. The oxymoronic nature of this look was definitely that new kick in the visual sense for the house of Givenchy.
Not to mention the latest ones from the runway, the wedding dress at the very end as the final conclusion of the collection that was totally different from what we could expect, far away from the clean lines and more on the pure Couture side, or the structured gowns featured with the astonishing prints! So many diversities and exciting creations that have set Sarah Waight Keller in the line of the very promising Couturiers! And that is for the world of couture a big thing!
What are your thoughts about this collection? Do you like the work by Waight Keller for Givenchy so far?

HAS THE HOUSE OF CHANEL CHANGED?!
It was rather a groundbreaking collection for Chanel at this Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris. Since Karl Lagerfeld´s passing this fashion brand has been going through the change in the sense of the creative director. And although on Mr. Lagerfeld´s place has come his assistant Virginie Viard, seems like the light "Wind Of Change" has come in this great fashion established name and, the proof for that was definitely the latest Fall 2019 Couture collection.
Although this was not the first collection by Viard, the one for Pre-Fall 2019 was her first where the low-key and almost copy-paste approach could be sensed, it was rather more daring and brave. The concept of the grandiose scene that was so dear to Lagerfeld, was here present but on more Viard mannerism kind of way. The runway show was a Bibliothek, big enough to grasp the excitement of the new horizons in the house of Chanel, yet very monumental and simple. That bold step was still in the codes of Chanel but very fresh and authentic for Virginie Viard.
Let us talk about Couture! The ensembles have got that Parisienne spirit, very chic elegance with the romantic tomboy alike spirit. The accents were on that French style with the spectrum of the more generated famous tweed texture that was opened the collection. The accents were on the trousers and uber-voluminous and sculpted jackets that were the step further from the usual Chanel aesthetic. Yet, the glimpse and the spirit was more feminine than ever!
The gorgeous Grace Kelly alike gown, or the blouse with the high collar that allured the neo-romantic spirit. The gorgeous embellishments that still looked and appeared so refine and almost shy but glorious! The heterogeneous factor that was kept even in the monochromatic colors, like the blacks or flush of pinks. Everything was kept in moderation and very sophisticated. Even the details from the bows on the shoes to the appliques on the fabrics have looked so minimalistic but so opulent.
This collection has brought definitely something new to the concept of Chanel. The more assertive femininity and very classy without the trending frenzy pieces is something that requires recipients and consumers that know a good fashion. Will one of these looks be part of the next red carpet season?! Definitely yes and without any doubt, but not in the Camp sense!
What are your thoughts about this collection? Do you like this Chanel in the creative direction by Virginie Viard?

GIAMBATTISTA VALLI FALL 2019 COUTURE COLLECTION
There is something specifically beautiful in the aesthetic of Giambattista Valli. His sense for Haute Couture has reached throughout not just Couture but the high fashion concept where even Ready To Wear collections are fuelled with the gorgeous pieces that burst from the pastels coloristic solutions and soft chiffon textures. That DNA of simply gorgeous and divine concept has definitely put the undertone to Giambattista Valli signature. Yet with each collection, Valli manages to give us something more and more.
Although this collection was part of the Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris, the characteristic runway show concept was absent. It was staged more likely towards the editorial kind of presentation filled with the museum alike display with the mannequins wearing Valli pieces. This kind of presentation was more on the artistic side featuring the illuminating all-white background as the perfect canvas for the collection!
Talking about the collection. It was a pure Couture dream made by Valli. The first dress with the mini ruffles gathered into the floral alike appliques in the deep lilac is definitely breathtaking. The floral spirit was accentuated with the head-pieces made of flowers giving the whole impression a totally romantic boost. One thing that catches the eye, is the silhouette. The usual cascade-falling one was here muted and more featured in the peplum kind of way. That kind of form was spotted at the second dress. The white and coral combination at the light yet slightly opulent volume gown was definitely the step further when it comes to the Valli aesthetic.
The contrapuntal spirit was on the red dress. The sleek silhouette was interrupted dramatically with the two-pieces ruffles dome. This contrast of the vertical simplicity mixed with this ornament has really dashing and simply amazing. But this collection has included the best and the "typical" of the Giambattista Valli signature! The ruffled dresses in the light pastel colors, the more opulent, the bigger and more gorgeous! The look at the last two beauties in the minty green and baby blue allures us at that Valli Couture vibe that is even today welcomed on the red carpets and glamorous get-around happenings!
What do you think about this collection? Do you like the gowns and the new Valli concept? Which dress do you like the most?
Thank you for your attention!
