NYFW: CAROLINA HERRERA S/S 2020 COLLECTION

As Wes Gordon has stepped into the great design foot-steps of Carolina Herrera he seemed to catch her creative vibe so easily! The new and modern vision of Carolina Herrera style has definitely got that new spark and yet has kept the glorious spirit of Carolina Herrera´s creative indices. That is why the collections and the shows by this fashion house are always an interesting thing to watch just to be a witness of the evolution of this American house!

The collection 2020 for Spring/Summer was at the beginning more on the traces of that famous Carolina Herrera kind of style codes. The sculpted and sassy yet chic version of the famous white blouse featured by the easy-falling yet floor-sweeping long skirt cinched by the wide belt around the waist! This is the famous CH silhouette and with the floral and tie-dye print solutions it has become more urban twist. Yet this look that has been so influential when it comes to the concept of Herrera style has become a pure anthological start point, a basic canvas where all the magic is created!

And there it was, the magic! At the very beginning, the collection has had indeed a pure reminiscence caption but how the show was going on, it has become more experimental and, well let's say, more Wes Gordon and less Carolina Herrera. The joyful spirit kept in the mini-dresses that were bold not only in the coloristic and pattern sense but in the cuts too!

The new and modern spin on the volume that has become more sculpted and Couture alike yet very wearable and easy-going! That is what this collection has made really a big step-out for Wes Gordon! He has tried something different and he did it magnificently! The big disclosure was brought in the glamorous edition of the dresses that were silky and satin softly with the polka dots or big floral patterns. The big balloon sleeves or the big asymmetrical bow! Enough details to give the catchy spin for the younger audience!

This collection was a mixture of the traditional and the modern one! If you are a Carolina Herrera fan, you will love this collection because it has that famous CH factor interrupted by the innovative design features! Another brilliant work and concept of what new era of Carolina Herrera design is all about!
