Cemetery and rain! What a great in the scene put collection and particularly just that happened at Rodarte show at the current New York Fashion Week. Their Spring/Summer 2019 collection has imagined having a mysterious and mystique spirit but in the Rodarte kind of way. Rodarte is famous for their romantic and high feminine approach so this dark and that dark should be considered only in the symbolic kind of way, the context was full of vibrant colors, shiny textures, happy ruffles, shining stars, and floral ornaments. Because that is the aesthetic spirit of Rodarte and this collection has looked on the edge of Couture with its drama. The phantasy which was offered and presented to us is so wearable, fresh and story-telling totally!
The concept was made around the dresses which were the main domain and pieces in this collection. The ruffles on ruffles structure then added long chiffon vail on the top of all of that featured the golden mini crown boosted with flowers on it. Seems like this concept was inspired by "Adams Family" alike bride because there was still something so haunting and deep in all of that pure coloristic, ruffles and floral sugar-coated rage! And that kind of romance is very neo-gothic appealing just like if you have stuck in the Edgar Allan Poe novels!
The textures and the fabrics here were on the perfect pitch. The sheer imperative of chiffon looks dazzling and scene rich and in the concept with the multiple ruffles sleeves, falling in the dramatic cascades. There were few ensembles with which Rodarte wanted to break that romantic spin so they put the ultra shiny texture which almost allured at the refined version of folium. In the gold and silver with the same form of ruffles scheme, these versions looked amazingly just to boost up the whole thing, bringing the edginess to the highest point!
The all-white dresses could easily be seen as the Rodarte version of wedding dresses which this whole on-the-cemetery placed story has given an opposite and almost sweet morbid note. Even the makeup was on the totally pure drama level. The accentuated lips and red eyeshadows, or electric blue just like the vibrant green. The makeup was here just to inhale the contemporary spirit to this romantic edition!
This collection was a well rounded imagined display of stunning and simply beautiful dresses. Just the thought of placing the show at the cemetery has given to all of it a totally different concept. With the rain which had started during the show, the drama effect has come as delivered to give all of this fashion story a totally another dramatic dimension! All of that was well balanced, indeed! Gorgeous clothes, the concept, the idea, the realization! Just to remind us how fashion shows are inevitable and that Rodarte has come after two years of absence in New York fashion week on big doors! The doors we can not wait to be opened again to us, transporting us again to another fashion fairy-tale made by Rodarte!
What do you think about this collection? Do you like the dresses? And what do you think about the place where the collection was presented?
Thank you for the attention!
