There is something so ethereal and whimsical when we talk about Elie Saab. That fact does not mean that he doesn´t experiment and offers the new and fresh visual solutions. As the collections are displayed, the edgier and innovative his collection has become. Note here that the experiments are all in the non-exaggerated area, but with the slow changes which are obvious to all fans of Elie Saab fashion.
In this collection, those innovations were in the texture wise sense. The denim alike fabrics boosted with the pearls´ embellishments, the combination of the sheer and lace with the ornamented floral interventions, the cashmere sweaters caught with crystal features on the top of the high glamorous ruffled skirt. The absence of the silk was dotted with the ultrafine chiffon textures multiple layered or in the much see-through edition.
The mini-revolution has been going on the color spectrum, too. Heavier and deeper colors like the chestnut red, dark blue, dirty pink or simply black. Seems like the black has become the favorite color of Elie Saab because he has sent a few ensembles in all black on the row as the show was coming to the end. That speaks not only about the chromatic change but about the more deep and mystic aesthetic for which Elie Saab has been going lately. This could indicate the huge change which stands on the totally opposite side of the vivid coloristic rich ensembles at his very beginning.
This collection has had everything the Elie Saab collection stands for. The ultimate glamour, deep and melancholic but gorgeous, something not just to wear and admire, but to think about! Simply gorgeous, on point and fresh!
