MODERN (GLAM)AZONIANS BY OFF-WHITE

Every generation has that IT name of the fashion scene, the one particular designer that can sense the next trends, what will be hot in the style sense and produce exactly that same style turning some new pages in the pulse of the fashion scene. For this generation, the one with the social media influencers and Instagramers seems that the leading name of Off-White Virgil Abloh is that name. He is not your average designer, he doesn´t even consider himself a designer in that typical kind of sense. He is more like a creator in the trends and in the fluent fashion streams that you often see on your Instagram timeline. In the dynamic nature of fashion to know which way to go and to be very successful at it leaving the mesmerizing footprints in the global fashion spirit, that is really a characteristic of a genius.

All of that we have in Virgil Abloh fashion persona. So when his label Off-White has the new collection, that is one of the most influential and big events. The spirit of the glam-meets-sports-causal is something that Abloh has invented. So the casual spirit that is all over the place lately, well we could consider Abloh to "blame" or to thank. The Spring/Summer 2019 Ready To Wear collection was the ultimate epitome of what Off-White is all about, but this time with the more differences and contrasts between the sports and glam wear.

Mini skirts with the high elegant factor were the first looks of the collection. The elegant boost was on the peek with the chic shoes so the comfortable insinuation was there just on the first sight. The elegant yet casual spirit was kept in the by the menswear-inspired blouses that were falling "leggero" on the top of the mini skirts. The further step in the elegant spot was white lace alike textures on the jumpsuits in the short and long versions. Then the further glam upgrade, the couture rich down dresses that have had crinoline alike form paired with the sport's top a.k.a swimsuit. This outfit could be considered as the anthological and typical Off-White look that has been highlighted through to extremes. In this case, sport meets couture.

That "opposites attract" vibe was on the peek with the long layered dress with the voluminous silhouette and the yellow "balayage" at the ends. The two sides of this concept have looked really new, fresh and most innovative. The more chic and fashionable pure were definitely yellow snake printed pieces. The sports jacket and the dress, all of that was brought in the same yellow-snake alike print just to give the glam boost to the more sports pieces. So the dichotomy of casual and glamorous in this collection has really reached another level, a level that is trendy and still so fresh and innovative.

If you ask Virgil Abloh, for him the fashion and the urge for the dressing up is something that considers the utility side of it. For him, the fashion needs to be in the mission to be beautiful but also comfortable and to make a sense. With this collection, he has shown that yes, the fashion is moving forward from the omnipresent casual spirit, but it is still kept in the quotidian use that considers the casual factor very important! And we can not but agree on that!
