As Wes Gordon has stepped into the great design foot-steps of Carolina Herrera he seemed to catch her creative vibe so easily! The new and modern vision of Carolina Herrera style has definitely got that new spark and yet has kept the glorious spirit of Carolina Herrera´s creative indices. That is why the collections and the shows by this fashion house are always an interesting thing to watch just to be a witness of the evolution of this American house!
The collection 2020 for Spring/Summer was at the beginning more on the traces of that famous Carolina Herrera kind of style codes. The sculpted and sassy yet chic version of the famous white blouse featured by the easy-falling yet floor-sweeping long skirt cinched by the wide belt around the waist! This is the famous CH silhouette and with the floral and tie-dye print solutions it has become more urban twist. Yet this look that has been so influential when it comes to the concept of Herrera style has become a pure anthological start point, a basic canvas where all the magic is created!
And there it was, the magic! At the very beginning, the collection has had indeed a pure reminiscence caption but how the show was going on, it has become more experimental and, well let's say, more Wes Gordon and less Carolina Herrera. The joyful spirit kept in the mini-dresses that were bold not only in the coloristic and pattern sense but in the cuts too!
The new and modern spin on the volume that has become more sculpted and Couture alike yet very wearable and easy-going! That is what this collection has made really a big step-out for Wes Gordon! He has tried something different and he did it magnificently! The big disclosure was brought in the glamorous edition of the dresses that were silky and satin softly with the polka dots or big floral patterns. The big balloon sleeves or the big asymmetrical bow! Enough details to give the catchy spin for the younger audience!
This collection was a mixture of the traditional and the modern one! If you are a Carolina Herrera fan, you will love this collection because it has that famous CH factor interrupted by the innovative design features! Another brilliant work and concept of what new era of Carolina Herrera design is all about!
What do you think about this collection? Which dress do you like the most? What are your thoughts about Wes Gordon work so far in the house of Carolina Herrera?

NYFW: OSCAR de la RENTA 2020 S/S COLLECTION
New York Fashion Week has been going on for the last few days. Plenty of fashion designers have presented their collections, some of them were the new names, some of them were the epitome of New York Fashion Week elite! In this last concept, the name of Oscar de la Renta has been involved highly as the most remarkable and promising. And still after a few years that Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia have been on the head of this fashion house, the name of Oscar de la Renta as the synonym of the high glam, is definitely something to be admired at!
The collection for Spring/Summer 2020 was definitely in the famous range of causal beauty and impeccable style! If we add to all of that the modernity that has come along with this creative directing duo, we need to say that this collection was really a little masterpiece! From the light and silky textures that required the breezy freshness as the final result, or the more conceptual ones brought in the form of the laced features that accentuated Latin vibe that this fashion name holds on to, in Oscar de la Renta they have really nailed it!
Especially when it comes to the evening dresses. They were more sculpting in the volume as well as the bolder in the forms. The organza fabric has accentuated not only the gorgeousness of it all but the deep cuts on the side as well as the seductive note of the corsets that in this case, they looked light, unbothered and free! Definitely, a collection that has embodied the Oscar de la Renta spirit with the new hints of the style evolution which Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia have no doubt brought! Perfect and suave, what else could we ask for!
What do you think about this collection? Do you like the style that lately Oscar de la Renta has been delivering? Which look do you like the most?
Thank you for your attention!

NYFW: ULLA JOHNSON S/S 2020 COLLECTION
The fashion week in New York has kicked off a few days ago and the plenty of designers have presented their collections. The chairman for this year is Tom Ford. Knowing his immaculate taste and touch for design, this New York Fashion Week is definitely showing a rise in all aspects. That was the intention, as Tom Ford was named as the leading man behind this fashion week. Just like the movie festivals have their chairman, the role of Tom Ford could be definitely be seen in the same context! It was a great intention and a successful approach to elevate the whole fashion story of NYFW to the higher branch!
Talking about the term of elevation! One brand that has stood up and it has been on the constant level is definitely the one by Ulla Johnson. Born in New York Ulla Johnson has been developing a style that could be described as the cosmopolitan kind of way. Seems like she knows and feels how the Big Apple circulates in the style sense, and she transferred all of these international influences into her clothing.
The collection presented at this New York Fashion Week was for Spring/Summer 2020. The dictate of the flowy and airy arts are definitely something that Ulla Johnson has kept it under the radar. She has brought one of the most feminine and simply stunning collections of hers. If you are planning to buy or to invest in just one piece for the next Spring/Summer season (I know it is hard to think about that when the Summer is on its end), you should definitely go and purchase one of the amazing dresses that were presented in this collection!
The focus was to bring the variety in the so adored piece as the summer dress. The length that was mostly long and in the codes of the maxi-dresses, the varieties in the textures, from the light and crispy ones to the more knitwear kind of just like that first dress that was sent down the runway. One thing that makes Ulla Johnson dresses so astonishing are the colors. She brings them in the monochromatic solution or in the vibrant polyvalent editions that scream the joyful of Summer.
And why this collection is so elevated?! Well, the bravura of mixing the light and easily approachable textures to the glamorous cuts. The dictate of the mostly maxi-dresses delivers the Summer elegance interluded with the refined choice of fabrics like chiffon and details like the tiny ruffles, has brought the impeccable style and because of that on your must-have list definitely needs to be one of these beauties!
What are your thoughts about this collection? Do you like these dresses and which one of them would you like to wear?!
Thank you for your attention!

RODARTE DID IT AGAIN!!!
Like an urban fairytale. With these words, the collections by Rodarte could be described. The effortless romantic touch with the modern approach that Rodarte woman stands out no doubt every time. Rodarte has achieved its design signature really quick so this fashion brand is recognizable with its aesthetics. The wavy dresses and ruffles, the clashed prints, the extraordinary choice of the textures that are brought in the new and exciting concept. All of that is Rodarte. If we add to that the high feministic note that its juxtaposition has on the cute subconscious that embodies the neo-readings of the traditional, we can easily see that Rodarte is making a big entrance on the high Olimp of the fashion mainstreams.
If actresses on the red carpet and the A-list celebrities choose your design, you know you have made it! The latest collection for Spring 2020 by Rodarte has presented in the form of the high romanticly boosted editorial and the models were the actresses from January Jones, Kristen Dunst or Gabrielle Union! This choice of the models' significates that Rodarte is a fashion for glamour but with the deep indicators, that the beauty is not just a pure beauty but it is a talented one and has a story to tell! A story-telling point of perspective is definitely something that has become a trademark for Rodarte and in this collection, these factors have boosted even more!
The gorgeous first look of the collection could sum up what here was all about! The high feminine start with the light avant-garde in the textures. Just a glimpse at the extraordinary features from the glows brought in the chiffon or the whole embellished midi-dress. Or the white and black and vice verse pepita prints in the same cut mannerism that wore January Jones! Of course, there were plenty of the Disney-princess moments like that all-white gown with the stunning easy on the voluminous form. Or the story that includes the trousers, but the trousers in the Rodarte concept is an item worth of glorification of the power feminine side. Just like the blue glittery ones, with the high-waist and simplified with the plain white blouse!
This collection has shown the character of Rodarte design in all its glory! It has everything Rodarte fan needs. Plenty of gorgeous dresses, enough romantic that is ludicrously mixed with the pop of the urban myths. It is not just about beautiful ensembles. It is about the attitude that invites you to be woman, girlie yet strong and headed in the concrete jungle! And we simply love it!
What do you think about this collection? Do you like this kind of fashion and design? Which ensemble do you like the most?

ARE FASHION WEEKS LOSING THEIR SPARK?!
As the month of the fashion week approaches, on September 4, for only two days the fashion frenzy will continue with New York Fashion Week. And as this date is closer and closer, I can not help to ask myself what is in store for the fashion weeks in the future, are they still a must, where is whole this fashion week thing is currently standing and most importantly, are they still the place to be and to be seen, the juxtaposition of the new trend alerts and strives. If you are a regular guest to my blog a.k.a column, you know that I usually write very detailed about the specific collections, but this time I will talk about this theme that is mostly in general yet so important and has been sitting on my mind during my three-weeks free of writing-absence.
The question is definitely not a rhetorical one while there are lately so much fashion houses that have been pulled out of the fashion weeks due to the expensive nature of it all, and due to the lack of interest. Let´s be honest! These days the trends are set somewhere else and that is on the social media, and by that I mean Instagram or YouTube thanks to the army of more and more influencers that have brought the democracy in the Olimp high fashion and have made it reachable to the almost everyone. Although this word, an influencer, has these days more negative than positive connotations because everyone who posts an #ootd picture calls himself an influencer. The taste of this majority is rather questionable, but the brands because in the fashion the motto "money makes a world go around" is definitely still a heavy and only realistic indicator of the brand success.
But that could be also one another theme. Let us go back to the theme of this post. Why the fashion week has lost its spark? Well, it is definitely because the first rows are packed with mostly again, influencers that have a big audience, and less with the people who know and write about the fashion. This fact has for the result that the fashion and the trends-reveal that were a must during the fashion week, have become so repetitive and not so exciting because of that item that you have maybe already seen at the social media.
The lack of refinery and the lack of imaginative note that has come with the again that social media. As life as itself has lost on the exclusivity, that same destiny has got into the world of fashion. To bring and to embody the show during the fashion week is a dang expensive and the final result of it all fails. So these all factors have definitely brought the era of the fashion week in the very questionable level. So what does the future brings in that sense? Hologram models, live streams of the fashion shows minus the recipients or the audience...
Well, that is a soap balloon that will hopefully stay intact and that will bring despite all of these gloomy perspectives, still, go on. Because if one thing fashion is, that is the fact that it is a survivor and, that it can re-birth itself easily! So let us see what this fashion month will bring!
What are your thoughts about this theme? Do you think that it is a reasonable fact to be worried about or you think that is is only a phase through which fashion takes on another spin on its metamorphosis?
Thank you for your attention!
