SUMMER GODDESS BY JONATHAN SIMKHAI

New York was where all has started, Los Angeles where all have rolled on and Sydney where the hot spot was delivered! All of these locations have a big importance in the life of a fashion designer Jonathan Simkhai! He was born in New York and his career has sprung successfully. Even at a very young age, he was fascinated with the fashion so as a kid of fourteen he was working like buyers assistant! This kind of passion has continued and as he finished his education for design he opened the store. His store was then relocated to Los Angeles, alluding that his clothes were all about the joyful and low-key elegance that is so characteristic for LA. And, in Sydney, he had his latest show.

The show was about the Resort 2020 collection presented at the Australia Fashion Week. The beach feel was all the way, so glamorous and posh. With the luxurious step in the textures like satin and leather that appeared so light and unbothered with the first two looks that stepped on a runway. The light pink jumpsuit and two-piece ensemble combined with structured balloon sleeves and corset alike top and deep cut midi-skirt. These looks scream definitely seductive note on the highest and yet still they look so dazzling and fearless!

Nothing fearless is in the design by Jonathan Simkhai when the word is about the swimsuits. They are playful, feminine pure and so glamorous. The monokini with the cuts on the waist was the proof for that! And one thing that Jonathan Simkhai is great about, are the dresses. With the choice in the texture that is pure luxurious yet body-friendly and in the form that accentuates the feminine silhouette yet go amazingly synchronized with the motion. Even the choice of colors like the light violet, vibrant orange or dip-dye blue was on the point alluring the perfect summer gear!

This collection was the festivity of elegance. The joy of dressing up is something Jonathan Simkhai adores even when the heat wave is on! The hit choice in the lightweight textures and fabrics, the airy silhouettes flow and bright colors! Everything was on point inviting us to be in love not just in fashion but in the festivity of being elegant, feminine and simply gorgeous!

KEEP IT SIMPLE BY JASON WU

For any fashion lover, the name of Jason Wu is a must-know-fact. Jason Wu has designed both inaugurations´ dresses for Michelle Obama. This was stardom and a big step that has catapulted Jason Wu into the fashion mainstream scene. His design was everything the former First Lady has embodied and that was elegant style with the personal signature. The down-to-earth glamour for which Ms. Obama was known about.

So his latest collection for Fall Ready To Wear 2019 was set in a totally different mode. Seems like the factor of the big casual feeling is something that Jason Wu can relate too. So he has made this collection with the imperative of being classy with the modern twist. The accents were in the details, so on the elegant dress, we have the tiny ruffles on the bare-arms´ sleeves. The minimalism that is so typical and very catchy at first sight, when we see Jason Wu design is only when we observing it from the gro-distance. If we look more carefully we see the details on the prints, like the polka dot dress in white and black, or simple red dress with the interesting stitches and high-neck coral.

The textures and the ones on the level of the micro-details are important to the design aesthetic of Jason Wu. It is there, but still so refined and unbothered. Just like the midi-dress with the combination of the tiny pleats and sewed in details on the top. The low-key attitude but with the original cuts was held when the word was about the coats. They were plain and monochromatic yet with the kangaroo-pockets on the front and mono-lined buttons.

What is interesting for this collection is the low-key nature of the colors. They are muted and homogenous. That is definitely something new in the design of Jason Wu. Toned down elegance with the perfection in the cuts and realizations. Even in the case of the florals, he kept it really simple. The canvas was deep blue and the floral prints were in white but very micro fine in the presentation. Or even if the tones were warmer they have appeared like an aquarelle pastiche. The more attitude was definitely in the suits and trousers making Jason Wu the perfect designer for a power dressing.

This collection was a little different than the usual Jason Wu design. It was serious yet very approachable and reliable. Something that a modern and the urban woman needs. It is definitely for those whos taste of fashion is refined and know to cherish the power of a good design!

What do you think about this collection? Do you like Jason Wu design? Which look do you like the most?

THE NEW AESTHETICS BY BOTTEGA VENETA

There is always an exciting thing to make the first collection for the fashion brand that has been already established. It can be like walking on thin ice, the hit or miss! We have witnessed that some of the first collections were lately not so great accepted from the fashion audience, like the one for Chanel by Virginie Viard or not so long time ago, the first collection by Hedi Slimane for Celine! Oh, talking about Celine, the former designer that had worked for Celine before the Phoebe Philo was Daniel Lee. And he has debuted his first collection for the famous Italian brand Bottega Veneta!

The collection was Ready to Wear for Fall 2019 in February at Milan Fashion Week. It was definitely the brave choice a hard one to pull. They didn´t wait currently time when lots of Resort collection appear. Resort collections are not so strict and they are an easy way to experiment and to introduce the designer with his own aesthetic and with the aesthetic of the brand. But in Bottega Veneta, they have decided to give Daniel Lee the chance to make the first collection with all its risks!

Bottega Veneta is all about the fine and luxurious leather design. And just like many other Italian fashion brands, Bottega Veneta likes to be kept in the classic and chic horizons with the accents on the craftsman. Well, this collection was that and even more. The experimental effect was strong so as the first look sent down the runway was the Bottega Veneta version of a Little Black Dress with the soft leather in the texture and in the midi length.

The edgy accents were kept on the horizon with the coats that were in the connection with the wool fabrics so they appeared like the crossovers between the coats and the sweaters. Just the one in the orange appeared really like a well-constructed coat at first sight when it was the perfectly knitted sweater.

The real deal when we talk about the coats were definitely the ones in the leather. Leather as a material, you would assume, doesn´t have plenty of the final realizations. But Daniel Lee has proved wrong. His coats have had that edgy spin and the spirit of the motorcycle vibes, but in the textures that were built like a mosaic, they appeared really so experimental rich and promising. Here we can see the brave side of Lee as a designer. He pushes his own vision respecting the fashion brand philosophy, yet he offers something fresh and different!

The new spirit was brought on the skirts in the same mannerism like on the leather coats, giving them more a robust kind of character. And then as you think that this everything was a little too much, Daniel Lee goes to another spectrum, showing us his form of the classic. The chiffon sleek dresses were in that kind of tone just like those made of the cozy wool. Low key yet elegant and refined. For everyone there was something, and we can not wait for the next collection to see what Daniel Lee has in his sleeve next for Bottega Veneta!

What do you think about this collection? Do you like this style? Which look or piece do you like the most?

MODERN TRAVEL MUSE BY LOUIS VUITTON

You know we talk about the highest and most fine style and design when we talk about Louis Vuitton. The high impact of the trendsetters vibes that are undertoned with the more art-tune nature. This was the concept of the last Resort 2020 collection. When we think about Resort collection we talk about the edgier nature of what the usual concept and the aesthetic. And the design by Louis Vuitton in this case not different. This collection was stunning, glamorous and fearless.

From the powerful suits combined with the strong accentuated jackets and blazers to the high feminine and girlie mini dresses. The textures were very eclectic and mixed on to another. From the satin ones to the leather, sheer segments. Everything has given the idea of the very confident mish-mash idea that in the case of Nicola Ghesquierre work expectedly so well. The vibe of the rebellious and boyish nature was there to undertone the playful and edgy nature of this collection.

The most amazing was the peplum mini skirts. In the collision with the more structured silhouette of the jackets that had the 90s kind of whisp, they look like the pure glamorous version of the urban attire. The Bermuda shorts were here alluring to be the inevitable IT piece of the next resort season. The pure artistic swing was brought in the form of the sculpted top that was more like a structured version of a bolero. With the pencil black trousers, it has become the perfect spin the classy glamorous look!

This collection was not rich with the all-over logos that LV is known for. This collection was bolder and artistically well done. Not a cup of tea for everyone but surely for the fashion lovers that enjoy the fashion and love to stand out in the more profound and refined mode!

What do you think about this collection? Do you like this design? Which outfit or piece do you like the most?
