The New York Fashion Week has kicked off a few days ago serving us some serious fashion inspiration ideas. Usually, this fashion week is known for the polished and minimalistic looks with the plenty of wearables and on point outfits. In the same design motto, the range was presented the refined and sharp design with the re-innovative and re-invented 80-is glam of Alexander Wang collection for Fall 2018.
There were plenty of all black ensembles which have become the trademark color of Alexander Wang. With the mini-dresses as the main key ingredient and the focus, the collection was inspired by the "Working Girl" theme but in much funky and so Wang kind of way. There were plenty of deconstructed pieces which were considered to be more on the corporative looks´ side of the spectrum. The coat with the cuts on the front worn by the current model star, the young Kaia Gerber was the epitome of what this whole collection was about.
The mentioned 80-is touch was seen on the more leisure and sportswear items. The tracksuits made of fines cashmere with the bomber jackets on the top, the leggings with the statement prints, the refined and retro-futuristic gym wear alike ensembles combined with the cropped top and high waisted track pants. The real statement was in the details which were minimalistic but powerful, like the sleek sunglasses and the sleek hair captured in the banana bun. The minimalism goes even further with the no-makeup makeup.
This collection has had the strong accentuated power of The Woman. It is the contemporary woman who is busy but knows a good fashion. She is a corporative mogul, goes at the business parties and then runs to the gym. With this collection, Wang has captured the day in the life of a modern woman who is fearless and emancipated, beautiful and stunning!
What do you think about this collection? What are your thoughts of the inspiration which is combined the casual and high corporative looks?
Thank you for the attention!
