The simplicity of the twist! With these words, the latest Haute Couture Collection Spring/Summer 2018 could be described. The evolution in simplicity was something that was in the sight when Raf Simons was on the head of Dior. Surely the simplicity bandwagon is something that is in a creative way when we talk about Dior under the Maria Grazia Chiuri creative leadership. But this simple way of approach has a little something, that edgy moment. With the light feministic ideas and inspirations which Chiuri settles in her creative design and her strive Dior has been on the mini-revolutionary wings.
But this statement alike fashion is something without any pretensions to be like that. With the simple and polished looks even in the Haute Couture niche, it has made the fashion for the purpose. With the simple cuts even in the gowns´ sections, with the simple and minimalistic cuts and realizations, this collection has shown once again the strong conscious of being the woman in today´s world. With the minimalistic style which was the main point and highlight of this collection, the edgy and witty part was hidden in the cool masks and head-pieces.
Making the illusion of the mask or a hidden reality, Grazia Chiuri has once again made the collection which is more than just a fashion statement. With the long and simple silhouette, the sharp edges and cuts were in the main focus of the collection. With the see-through component, the illusion of the perception and reality was on the point. It was like Chiuri was saying if I have exposed my beauty it doesn´t mean I have offered my soul.
The simple fashion with the depth is something that has become the key and the trademark of the current Dior. With the brave and inspiring approach to the design under the Matia Grazia Chiuri leadership, it seems that Dior has become more than just the pure fashion house. With the conscious of the big society problems Dior has become the relevant and strong voice of the woman for the woman. And we love it!
What do you think about this collection? Which dress is your favorite? What about the silhouettes and the cuts, do you find them interesting?
Thank you for the attention!
