There is something specifically beautiful in the aesthetic of Giambattista Valli. His sense for Haute Couture has reached throughout not just Couture but the high fashion concept where even Ready To Wear collections are fuelled with the gorgeous pieces that burst from the pastels coloristic solutions and soft chiffon textures. That DNA of simply gorgeous and divine concept has definitely put the undertone to Giambattista Valli signature. Yet with each collection, Valli manages to give us something more and more.
Although this collection was part of the Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris, the characteristic runway show concept was absent. It was staged more likely towards the editorial kind of presentation filled with the museum alike display with the mannequins wearing Valli pieces. This kind of presentation was more on the artistic side featuring the illuminating all-white background as the perfect canvas for the collection!
Talking about the collection. It was a pure Couture dream made by Valli. The first dress with the mini ruffles gathered into the floral alike appliques in the deep lilac is definitely breathtaking. The floral spirit was accentuated with the head-pieces made of flowers giving the whole impression a totally romantic boost. One thing that catches the eye, is the silhouette. The usual cascade-falling one was here muted and more featured in the peplum kind of way. That kind of form was spotted at the second dress. The white and coral combination at the light yet slightly opulent volume gown was definitely the step further when it comes to the Valli aesthetic.
The contrapuntal spirit was on the red dress. The sleek silhouette was interrupted dramatically with the two-pieces ruffles dome. This contrast of the vertical simplicity mixed with this ornament has really dashing and simply amazing. But this collection has included the best and the "typical" of the Giambattista Valli signature! The ruffled dresses in the light pastel colors, the more opulent, the bigger and more gorgeous! The look at the last two beauties in the minty green and baby blue allures us at that Valli Couture vibe that is even today welcomed on the red carpets and glamorous get-around happenings!
What do you think about this collection? Do you like the gowns and the new Valli concept? Which dress do you like the most?
Thank you for your attention!
