A deconstructed romantic with claiming the power of the flower was the main inspiration idea of the latest Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2018 Ready-To-Wear Collection by Sarah Burton. This was her sassiest collection with brave design ideas and visual resolutions via more eccentric and the "Savage Beauty" concept. The power of floral motifs was on the dresses embellished on them in prints and in the coloristic sense. The soft petals vibes in the chromatic range were more than dazzling, for sure.
But all this beauty had something very a la Baudelaire; the wet drowned hair of the models, the de-constructed approach to the whole aesthetic which could be sensed in the cut-out raincoat on the top of the stunning floral gown, the SM vibes in all black or red leather ensembles. If this collection was imagined to be like a garden then it was not a case of a garden of the escapism. It was more the cathartic one in which all the sorrows could be wept by the rain.
The decadent side was undertoned with heavy statement jewelry like the necklaces and big earrings or robust arm bracelets. The again one act of deconstruction was in the detail of sleek belt tight in the nott. As it was deliberately there to be malfunctioned. The ruffles overload alluring the petals and the lace symphony were the stars of the collection. But the whole collection was stardusty, beautiful and inviting to take a sneak peek into the garden of Alexander McQueen! This was the best collection of the whole Paris Fashion Week, that I can tell!
Do you like this collection? What do you think about the colors and the cuts? Which ensemble is your favorite?
Thank you for the attention!
