The textures are a big deal when we consider fashion design. It can predict what kind of silhouette the designer will use, will the lines be polished or more rough and structured. If the texture choice is polyvalent and heterogeneous the better. But it can be a tricky area if the design picture which is wanted to be shared is not clear and sure.
Well, this texture dilemma was the making highlight and leading point in the latest Altuzarra Spring/Summer 2018 Ready-To-Wear Collection. And it was more than amazing. This textures´ play game was accentuated more from the embroidery point of view. The knits fragments were in gro or small editions with the big ones on the coats and jackets, and with the micro fine ones on the dresses. Oh, talking about the knits. This texture was a great extravagant piece in the form of midi skirts. Alluring the all around transparency style cult and seductive sheerness it was really simple but astonishing way to give this collection another quirky spin.
The playful is something Joseph Altuzarra likes and isn´t affraid to show and to represent. In this collection there were plenty of witty motifs like little mini pom poms on the skirts´ and coats´ edges, the fringes were in the same spotlights too. With shiny embellismented evening dresses the story of texture polyvalency was here at the beautiful climax. With chic loosed up silhouette around the waist they were the glamorous protypes of the day wear versions.
This collection could be used as the manual or visual tutorial on how to combine and style different textures without being out of style. The creative freedom in this sense was here leashed totally but kept the classy and refined elegance. It was simply beautiful and inspiring!
What do you think about the textures in this colection? How do you like the embroidery? Could your style be inspired by some of these items?
Thank you for the attention!
