For all the fashion insiders and fans when the name Zac Posen emerged you know what to expect. The easy glamour, almost on the line with the daily wear combinations, the dazzling and girlie dresses with the huge classic elegance factor, the refined textures like silk. Seems like this kind of style "cup of tea" is not working anymore for Zac Posen so he decides to go a little risky and different making his latest collections and presenting it at the edgiest and rebellious kind of way!
The word is about Spring/Summer 2019 collection brought to us in the form of witty and high artistically strong editorial. Alluring at the long and dreamy summer days in the American rural suburbia, this edition of Zac Posen was not only loosed up and experimental in the editorial sense but in the fashion sense too. One thing that has caught the eye was the silhouette. Usually, Zac Posen nourishes the refined and polished lines with the strong and non-complicated falling form aura. But in this case, the silhouette was much freer, almost on the board of mixing the most comfortable nightie with the most glamorous gown.
And yes, that kind of hybrid seemed to be the leading design theme and inspiration for this collection. The cotton fabrics rolled amusingly in the dramatic dress with the puffy sleeves, the first look of this collection, was the perfect visual intro into this wild aesthetic journey. The capsule alike deep green gown embroidered with the charming floral three-dimensional appliques interrupted with the crystals was there only not to forget that here is the word of Zac Posen, the American designer who is a red carpet-friendly with Katie Holmes as his inevitable muse and celebrity which usually rocks his fashion.
The decadent baroque-ss spirit was hinted at the next looks, the corset tight dress in the top made of satin and the ball gown worthy version skirt featuring the multiple big ruffles. The high-glam was toned up just a little bit with the cocktail mini dress in the pink shot in the front of the cornfield, or the pink again ensemble of the cute blazer on top. And just like that, in the finger snap the typical Zac Posen is back again with the last looks of this editorial. The stunning close up in satin pink, or the next one where the barefoot model sits down the tree. And finally the by chiffon rich layers beauty at the very end, caught in all its beauty.
Yes, in this collection seems that Zac Posen aesthetic has gone a little wild, which sometimes is good because "we´re never gonna survive unless we get a little crazy´´! But he did it in his own way nourishing the spectacular and non-pretentious glamour serving us the most iconic looks of his design still keeping the fresh and innovative elegant imperative keeping the excitement of his creative spirit! And we simply need to congratulate him on that!
What are your thoughts on this collection? Do you like this editorial which looks non-polished and totally natural? Which dress is your favorite?
Thank you for the attention!
