At the first glimpse at the Spring/Summer 2019 Ready To Wear collection by Oscar de la Renta, we could see the total Oriental vibe. The first look which was worn by Bella Hadid has had definitely that vibe with the one-sleeved romantic bolero alike blouse paired with the asymmetric cut skirt which looked like a piece of the caftan. No doubt that Morrocco inspiration was the first hint that directed the designers´ duo Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia in their creative mission. The destination was stunningly interpreted but as the collection was going on, the ultimate Oscar de la Renta style was higher and higher.
The gorgeous draped dresses in the monochrome solution have had definitely that Oscar de la Renta spirit. The inevitable elegance which has fluctuated throughout these dresses was a developed aesthetic with the hints of the classic and tradition but yet modern and now currently dazzling. The fashion fans could sense the ultimate de la Renta vibe in the light voluminous gown in the vibrant yellow. The silhouette and the sculpted nature has definitely brought back the memories of Mr. de la Renta´s design signature.
The more elevated versions of the same items were the robust embroidered textures on the glamorous versions of the dresses as well as those that were more for a daily wear appropriate. The arabesques on the all red and black gowns were there to remind us of the exotic touch of this collection. The exotic that was so rich that we could say it could easily fit in the Resort niche too. The playful and red carpet ready was definitely the dresses boosted by the fringes. For more glamorous effect there was the beautiful gold embellished long dress too. Or at the very end, the laced one. Just to accentuate what Oscar de la Renta still is. A pure glamorous and classic fashion house that knows how to offer something new to the new fans and consumers.
This collection has definitely been the perfect one for the ultimate glamorous Summer occasions. The gorgeous by-the-pool flowy capes, the stunning raw embroidered ones for the cocktails or the glamorous boosted ones for the nightwear. Everything was so fresh, new and yet it has had that de la Renta touch giving us the nostalgia for dress-up fashion!
What do you think about this collection? Do you like the Summer vibes in it? Do you find the dresses glamorous enough just like those made by the original Oscar de la Renta?
Thank you for the attention!
