"SMELLS LIKE VINTAGE SPIRIT" BY GUCCI

Gucci has been going through the style and the aesthetic swirls lately. The cut that has been made by the entering of Alessandro Michele has been extreme, yet still so artistic and something that Gucci needed just to refresh the style and design mojo. This step was so influential not just in the aesthetic sense but in the perspective and the spirit of the entire brand. The label which was all about sleek chic and conscious dressing with Michele has entered into the totally new level of the visuals that are so heterogenic, dynamic and unpredictable.

The one thing that could be considered as the constant in this everlasting visual "Spiritus Movens" is definitely the vintage approach. There is anything that Alessandro Michele can´t incorporate in only one collection. And, still, all of that looks fresh, exciting and new with the well thought and realized style vision. The same case was with the Spring/Summer 2019 Ready To Wear collection. The simulacrum and the mixtures of the "Epoques", the 70 and 80s, the disco vibes, the Victorian archaic twist to it, the glitters, the wide shoulders, the flowy silhouettes, the origami sculpted forms. All of that was presented giving us the pure WOW effect, with no side-effects or jaded feelings.

When you see this kind of vintage collage you want to see more and more. Because underneath that vivid and edgy formula, if we take a closer look, we can notice the stunning pieces. Like the well-cut suits, amazing by prints and GG logo boosted blouses, stunning dresses glamorous enough but yet so classy and utterly gorgeous. The maneuver of Michele is definitely not to be liked instantly. His design requires and asks for the more careful and attention purely because there are some pretty amazing not just items but aesthetic stories that push our perception´s boundaries made out of the already known and seen. In the literature, we could say the word is about the neo-modernism. And here too, in the fashion sense, alluring at the great classics of the fashion and building them into the new concept!

This collection has shown the nature of the fashion in its pure way. You know how people say, fashion always and constantly takes the old stuff and makes the new ones. Well, here we have the exact example of that, with the artistically high voltage that goes even beyond the pure clothes and the fun of dressing up.
