Johanna Ortiz has already established her signature design. The gorgeous feminine dresses that are rich in the forms and colors alluring the richness of "La Vida Divina" that comes with her Columbian heritage. That joy "de Vivre" is definitely something Johanna Ortiz design has set her signature into the remarkable place catching the attention of many fashionistas and fashion fans. The rich femininity with the dresses as the main item domain featured with the glamorous big hats and ruffles. But seems that lately, Johanna Ortiz has that courage to try something different exploring her limits as a designer giving us something else in her collections.
That evolution or the step further was remarkable in her latest Pre-Fall 2019 Ready to Wear collection but in the Resort 2020, her design swag was so bold and on point. The overall feeling was that Johanna Ortiz lady has become sassier and urban. The first look of Resort collection was the all-white ensemble featured by light puffy-sleeved blouse and midi-skirt. This homogenous approach in the coloristic sense is definitely refreshing dote into the always with the chromatic prints rich solutions. This monochromatic look was not the only one. The light pink dress with the balloon sleeves and knot tied on the front was brought in the same kind of mannerism but with the more fluid silhouette.
What has made this collection bold and sassy, are more toned down colors and boots on the top of the empowering formed dresses. The accentuated shoulders alluring at the office smart options and the leather knee-boots was definitely something new in Johanna Ortiz style. The pure contrast to her usual aesthetic was all-black ensemble with the uber-big, again, puffed sleeved blouse and leather skirt. The seriousness of this look was there to set a different kind of vibe than what we could expect from Johanna Ortiz!
As the show was going to its end, it has remained something of JO aesthetic that we were used to. The ruffled dresses with the huge hints of neo-romanticism with amazing prints, silky textures, and a flowy silhouette mantra only without vibrant colors. More earthy ones as well as that kind of prints. But still so stunning and desirable for any fashion lover!
What do you think about this collection? Do you like this new aesthetic by Johanna Ortiz? Which look from this collection do you like the most?
