Urban meets glam! With these words, the latest Alexander Wang Spring/Summer 2018 Ready-To-Wear Collection could be described. Held yesterday at the New York Fashion Week taking a fresh spin using the Brooklyn streets as a runway, Wang has made youthful and modern collection full with interesting "mish-mash" features giving the fashion inspired by New York a new dimension.
Plenty of distressed denim was on the site, baggy boy trousers, Athleisure (again) mixed with casual elegance or with glamorous ensembles. The outfits were gradually developed from daily wear into the high night codes. This was Wang´s party invitation to the City That Never Sleeps, for sure! The deconstructed approach to typical pieces like man shirt, denim shorts or tuxedo giving them a new re-birth in origami alike form was definitely the most original twist of the show. Those outfits were so vivid although made in monochrome coloristic range.
Thanks to the twisted cuts, the plain and everyday item got their design re-invention. A more toned approach was on the night gowns. With lots of draping game in silky textures, printed "party-queen" tiaras on the head, these step was a perfect round up of showing love and appreciation to Big Apple And fashion that rules on the street of New York City!
