Fashion is all about new inventions in a visual sense so the imperative of every design house is to reinvent itself keeping the trademark or style legacy alive. This exact thing or transition to a higher level was successfully done and presented in the Oscar De La Renta Spring/Summer 2018 Ready-To-Wear Collection. With huge Oscar De La Renta legacy the present designer team made of Garcia and Laura Kim. Taking the step further this fashion house has got modern and fresh design vibe.
The playful twist was on the site in the more youthful codes. With easy to wear chiffon sheer dresses, vibrant colors paired with shiny embellishments on the cocktail dresses, the voluminous striped jacket on the top of the glamorous gown. The feeling was fresh and youthful, for sure! The play game with Oscar De La Renta signature which was a logo for a long time was brought in cropped printed style on the fabrics.
But the most stunning piece was displayed at the end of the show, balayage alike colored gowns, plenty of tulle textures and layers with sleek upper parts and accentuated waist line. So much of a perfect deja vu reminiscing the Oscar De La Renta´s famous work which we miss so much! But the show and life must go one, and this collection was the perfect example of how to keep the famous legacy alive but giving it your own, in this case, Garcia and Laura Kim´s signature making it a real piece of art! And yes, it was the art, the ready to wear kind one!
