NEW EXTRAVAGANT STYLE DIRECTIONS BY BALMAIN

It smells like a Couture spirit! Seems like with this guideline Olivier Rousteing has been inspired purely! And not without the reason! We all are under the great impression of his first Haute Couture collection for Balmain that he has presented a few weeks ago. And now it seems like that Couture drive has been working so amazingly pushing the creative strive of Olivier Rousteing into the more braver and bolder style directions. That change could be seen in his latest Ready To Wear collections, the maturity of them, the whole attitude, the whole re-build of the famous brand that has been loved among the social media influencers!

Seems like Balmain is taking a new step into the more conscious and artistically full aesthetic featured with the totally new forms, textures, the deconstructions of the known and famous pieces (yes, that famous Balmain blazer) and swirling into the new design waters that for now look very promising, fresh and deep. The latest Fall 2019 Ready To Wear collection was all about that new swing in the design and creative strive giving the Balmain house the totally new and extravagant touch. No more stardust seduction fuelled with the sassy but classy vibes. No, this collection was all about being extravagant, spleen, rebellious and bold.

The change was definitely evident in the silhouette. The stick shouldered form has been toned down and loosed up, but still has been maintained in the 80s kind of dimensions. The baggy and robust vibe was added in the carrot-formed pants. The wider the better. This flowy oblique has still kept the structured nature and that was realized with the choice of the materials that were more on the heavier side like embroidered tweed, shiny leather or nylon. The washed denim was there too, just to enhance the tomboy nature of the collection.

Still, this Balmain has not forgotten how to be sexy. The edgy all-black dresses with the mainly see-through effect either through the chiffon or through the see-through plastic attached on the material and incorporated into the ensemble. The strong and bold nature of the new Balmain woman is definitely very revolutionary. Incorporated into the edgier than rock chic that we used too, the pure drama was elevated deeply with the nightwear versions brought in the shape of the uber-voluminous dark dresses and coats aka capes, in this case!

The stunning mixture of the Couture alike features and street style has definitely risen to another level! The level that has pushed the boundaries for Balmain consumers and fans, but for Olivier Rousteing himself as a designer! This Balmain is deep and it means serious! And we love it!
