The first time is the hardest one, or maybe not! These words could be a motivational and a code of ready to dazzle for the new fashion designer at the head of the Givenchy. After Ricardo Tisci departure it was not easy to step into the glam & by celebrities adored fashion designer. And if that was not enough the imperative of Haute Couture Fashion Week was on the go so this Spring/Summer 2018 Couture Collection by Givenchy was probably the main and most important thing for Clare Waight Keller´ s career.

But seems that Clare Waight Keller has accepted the fashion challenge without any fear in the design sense. Contrary, she has managed the Haute Couture test with the outstanding impressions. I bet it was like taking the plunge in the cold sea. And Waight Keller has shown that she knows to make a good couture collection. With the plenty of classic interludes incorporated in the modern and twisted details, she has made the star-struck worthy collection full of admiration and in the high fashion refined and polished level for which Givenchy house has been known for.

The sheer elements which are hidden in the luxurious textures of lace brought in the multi-line layers, the structured details of the ruffles all the way to create the sleek but rich silhouette, the cool layering of the fringed dresses with the sharp-edged coat on the top, the sugar-coated stiffed all lace dress in the light grey, or the monochromatic structured in the origami way one in the sea blue with the shiny appliques. All of that was so versatile buts still in the typical Givenchy couture spirit.

The mixture of the structured and more fluid elements was on the sight in the gowns made of the silky materials combined with the stiffer upper parts. The highlights were again coat on the top of a gown in the latex kind of texture. This element has had the perfect spirit of edginess and Waight Keller design signature which was more than welcome! The next highlight was again the origami structured dress in the again light caramel color alluring the already mentioned latex drama but performed and manifested in the silky texture.

This collection was the big thing for Waight Keller and for Givenchy too! It has revitalized the Givenchy touch and couture style with the modern spin with the refined vision of the new chapter which is looking in the hands and fashion vision of Clare Waight Keller more than promising!

ZUHAIR MURAD S/S 2018 COUTURE COLLECTION

Red carpet ready! With these words, the latest Zuhair Murad Spring/Summer 2018 Couture Collection could be described. The classic Zuhair Murad aesthetic with plenty of embellishments and high glamorous fabrics was on the peak with the seductive and feminine forms and silhouettes. The Astec worthy theme with the native accents was the only step into the unknown but still in the typical Zuhair couture horizons.

The plenty of white and ice white as well as the greys, the motifs with the native twists building the modern Pocahontas couture story. The feathers in the hair as well as the appliqued ones on the prints and animated fringes. All of that was on the sight creating the perfect red carpet collection. Zuhair Murad is well loved by the A-list celebrities so this collection has had the plenty of ideal gowns.

The drama was in the texture which was rather refined and on point in the classic Murad mannerism but with the modern re-build with the mini dresses as well as the dramatic ones. The red ensembles were the stars of the collection in all of their couture opulence as well as the wedding dress at the end. The pure glamour was bursting throughout the whole collection even the theme was more edgy and playful. But it was still in the Murad canons of "Belle Couture" which he has mastered magnificently!

VALENTINO S/S 2018 HAUTE COUTURE COLLECTION

Although the Haute Couture Fashion Week is over there are plenty of collections that need to be seen and admired. Because the Haute Couture is not so common and it is really a spectacular thing and occasion in fashion momentum it really demands the deeper analysis and it is the perfect excuse to enjoy in the good dressing. in this post, I will say a few word about the Valentino Spring/Summer 2018 Couture Collection. Valentino has definitely become the high fashion house that has successfully combined the old tradition of the Valentino and the new design genre with the Pierpaolo Piccioli as the leading creative director and designer.

The voluminous forms full of easy to wear details and factors, the new age textures brought in the synergy with the uber-big accentuated accessories like the fringed hats or mega big bows. Seems that the bow is really a constant visual highlight and thing in the Piccioli´s aesthetic which was emerged also in the latest Ready To Wear collections too. This only indicates that Piccioli has the urge and the courage in the design sense to start and present something new and fresh.

The fresh attitude and look were on the sight in this couture collection for sure. The voluminous forms, the witty details by which Piccioli has stepped bravely into the more experimental kind of couture. Seems that this fact shows the new vision and the direction of the new Valentino era.The spectacular in classic shape presented gowns were interrupted with the edgy details and the seductive cuts. Of course, the tradition was held on the point with the few Valentino red dresses. The high glamour and luxurious opulence were on the top but with the modern twist and spirit.

This collection has shown the collision of the both Valentino worlds. The one is traditional and classic pure and the other is contemporary bold and modern. With these aspects, it has the perfect measure of the funny and original but kept in the pure glamour edition!

What do you think about this collection? Which gowns do you find the most interesting and attractive?

GIMBATTISTA VALLI SPRING/SUMMER 2018 COUTURE COLLECTION

Many people ask what is the purpose of the Haute Couture? What is the sense of the fashion that is so glamorous and so not affordable (and yes, even the A-list Hollywood stars which you will probably see in some of these divine creations on the red carpets, cannot buy these magnificent fashion pieces) clothes that you can mainly only watch and not have?! Well, in today´s "want all - can have all era" the sense of Haute Couture is maybe hard to understand. Especially in the time when the chic and pure classic fashion are in the sunset and the more casual style is on the horizon.

And here is where Haute Couture steps in. And by the Haute Couture, I mean the dramatic, purely glamorous and extraordinary. The spirit of the good old days of Couture but in the modern version has captivated Giambattista Valli in the Spring/Summer 2018 Couture Collection. With the mixture of the more wearable fluid textures of the dresses, with the floral textures and vibrant colors, the pure classic Couture breakdown was brought in the form of the typically Valli gowns. The chiffon rhapsody in the green, pink and peachy pink were the highlights of this Haute Couture week in Paris.

The modern traces were kept in the makeup which was natural with the glossy and wet eyelids and cheeks. The toned down factors were on the feet of the models. The simple Harlequin black ballerinas a.k.a. flats were the perfect antipode to the glamour that was going on the dresses. Not to mention all organza ruffles long dresses with the asymmetric game on the shoulders.

The ancient Rome inspiration was on the scene with the refined drapped textures on the dresses which were the easy to wear the prototype of the Couture. But Valli likes the drama and he is so good at it. So the climax at the end with the classic Valli chiffon puffed gowns were the pure festivity of the beauty of the Haute Couture and fashion in general! It has reminded us why fashion is so captivating and magical and that Couture still lives and goes on!

What do you think about this collection? Which gown do you like the most? Could you see any of them on the red carpet of the upcoming Oscars?
