VERSACE STATE OF MIND

Pre-Fall collections are the autumnal epitome of the Resort collections. They often are presented in the other city or country which was the ultimate "Spiritus Movens" in the if not visual then in the presentational sense. In the case of Versace which is a Milano based fashion brand the latest Pre-Fall collection for 2019 was held in the form of the runway show in New York City. With that on our mind, the designer highlights were the mixture of the Versace archives and the strength and the power of the urban chic warrior-ess that is so common vision when we think about the style of the Big Apple, a.k.a of the City That Never Sleeps!

For the fashion knowers and fans the sense of the old that have become new spirit and whisps, is something that has been very often in the case of Versace aesthetic lately. That doesn´t mean that Donatella Versace has left without the creative strive or vision. It is just her way to pay the homage to her beloved brother Gianni who invented those vibrant Versace prints, the nylon textures in the symbiosis with the cashmere seductive pieces. In this collection the "Deja-Vu" factor is strong and it looks almost like the iconic and nostalgic vision brought in the mannerism of what Versace by Donatella is all about; seductive, strong, sexy and elegant.

The safety pins on the dresses have alluded at the famous dress worn by Elizabeth Hurley. That was really one of the most iconic red carpet moments. Or the last dress that was worn by the famous model of the late nineties Amber Valetta, which in the cut and form was totally similar to the famous deep cut "green dress" that has catapulted Jennifer Lopez into the immediate stardom! Indeed, those were some really strong and anthological red carpet moments in which the huge part was thankful to the Versace.

But let´s go back to the current fashion  "State Of Mind"! The shiny textured jacket in the cognac brown paired with the sleek asymmetric silky midi-dress and the cashmere top underneath worn by Kaia Gerber which was the first look of the collection has definitely something old/something new vibe. The fully printed version of "Le Smoking" in the Versace prints, in yellow, white and black has definitely that refined note that Versace is all about. Versace likes the seductive note but enhanced with the chic and high elegant influence.

Among the glamorous dresses which were mainly thought to be focused on the night-wear glam, there were plenty of the youthful targeted pieces like the vinyl dresses in yellow or black, the high elegant versions of the little black dress, the play with the casual notes in the form of the T-shirts with the logo like I Heart NY or simply Versace on the top of the elegant and chic dresses. The concept was definitely with the highlights on the modern and energetic style that can be connected with NYC!

And this collection was all about that! Bringing the new stuff, the new consumers or introducing them to the iconic looks by this famous fashion brand and re-inventing it into the cult of the urban, hype, frenzy gorgeous contemporary spirit!

What do you think about this collection? Are you familiar with the mentioned Versace iconic looks and dresses from the red carpet?

Thank you for the attention!
