ARE FASHION WEEKS LOSING THEIR SPARK?!

As the month of the fashion week approaches, on September 4, for only two days the fashion frenzy will continue with New York Fashion Week. And as this date is closer and closer, I can not help to ask myself what is in store for the fashion weeks in the future, are they still a must, where is whole this fashion week thing is currently standing and most importantly, are they still the place to be and to be seen, the juxtaposition of the new trend alerts and strives. If you are a regular guest to my blog a.k.a column, you know that I usually write very detailed about the specific collections, but this time I will talk about this theme that is mostly in general yet so important and has been sitting on my mind during my three-weeks free of writing-absence.

The question is definitely not a rhetorical one while there are lately so much fashion houses that have been pulled out of the fashion weeks due to the expensive nature of it all, and due to the lack of interest. Let´s be honest! These days the trends are set somewhere else and that is on the social media, and by that I mean Instagram or YouTube thanks to the army of more and more influencers that have brought the democracy in the Olimp high fashion and have made it reachable to the almost everyone. Although this word, an influencer, has these days more negative than positive connotations because everyone who posts an #ootd picture calls himself an influencer. The taste of this majority is rather questionable, but the brands because in the fashion the motto "money makes a world go around" is definitely still a heavy and only realistic indicator of the brand success.

But that could be also one another theme. Let us go back to the theme of this post. Why the fashion week has lost its spark? Well, it is definitely because the first rows are packed with mostly again, influencers that have a big audience, and less with the people who know and write about the fashion. This fact has for the result that the fashion and the trends-reveal that were a must during the fashion week, have become so repetitive and not so exciting because of that item that you have maybe already seen at the social media.

The lack of refinery and the lack of imaginative note that has come with the again that social media. As life as itself has lost on the exclusivity, that same destiny has got into the world of fashion. To bring and to embody the show during the fashion week is a dang expensive and the final result of it all fails. So these all factors have definitely brought the era of the fashion week in the very questionable level. So what does the future brings in that sense? Hologram models, live streams of the fashion shows minus the recipients or the audience...

Well, that is a soap balloon that will hopefully stay intact and that will bring despite all of these gloomy perspectives, still, go on. Because if one thing fashion is, that is the fact that it is a survivor and, that it can re-birth itself easily! So let us see what this fashion month will bring!

What are your thoughts about this theme? Do you think that it is a reasonable fact to be worried about or you think that is is only a phase through which fashion takes on another spin on its metamorphosis?

Thank you for your attention!
