Some fashion houses have the aesthetics which could be considered as their trademark. With the instant and catchy visual aspects, this is actually one of the best things that fashion houses strive too, even when the leading designer has retired and the new names have got the (hard) task to develop their aesthetic vibe. When we talk and mention Paco Rabanne we instantly consider and get the reminiscence of the famous micro-metal embellished textures brought in the form of the most seductive and feminine pure gowns.
This trademark factor has definitely settled and kept in the house of Paco Rabanne. With the new designer Julien Dossena on the top of this brand, it has kept the pure nature and habitat of what Rabanne aesthetic is all about but yet brought the new signature and such a modern and contemporary twist. The perfect example of that is the latest Resort 2019 collection. With the already famous textures and details which have been brought into the new concept, this collection has given us the new Paco Rabanne era!
Seems like the starting point was definitely a maritime theme which was developed through the edgy and cool nature of the typical Rabanne style giving us the visual whisps of the urban siren. This feeling was kept in the fishnets alike structured metal mesh which was featured on the top of the almost every ensemble. The animal prints underneath have kept the ultimate glam effect which we expect when we talk about Rabanne style and that thing will never go out of style in that sense!
The metal mesh textures go on even further in the more refined way on the sleek aired midi dresses. The sheerness of it only accentuates the light seductive note and of course undertones the beauty of what Rabanne is all about, the metal embellishments. The contemporary note was kept in the clash of not only prints and textures (animal prints meet lace and tweed/metal meets chiffon) but in the clash of high glam and casual pieces, like the robust yellow raincoats, yellow plain t-shirts or mustardy clogs or cowboy boots, or the spaceman silvery pointy ones for the footwear.
This collection has presented how the fashion house develops its aesthetic by keeping the famous signature like the metal embellished textures and giving it a new fresh design spirit by combining the trends of modern vintage twist like mixing the prints and the styles. This fashion simulacrum definitely has that IT factor but yet it remains in the classic fashion frames. The Rabanne woman is never dull in the fashion way. She likes the drama, the spotlight and that is why she needs a bold fashion statement! From this collection, she can pick any outfit and be a style star!
What do you think about this collection? Do you like the metal mesh for which this fashion house is known for? What do you like about the prints clash here?
Thank you for the attention!
