Fine and refined! Seems like Pierpaolo Piccioli has found the perfect formula for his aesthetic vibe in Valentino. The loosed up silhouettes that have become so in the level of a trademark just like the opulence in the airy and moving-friendly volume. The first thing that comes in the eye is the gentleness of the textures that are glamorous and yet so every-day inspired. Seems like the total loose and freedom for exactly this kind of design has been the inspiration for the latest Resort 2020 collection for Valentino.
The all-monochrome look in violet that has been displayed in this collection that was, like the most of them, presented in the form of a gorgeous editorial, has set the ultimate imperative for this collection and that is slightly moody romantic with the sassy accents. The sassiness was all in the hats and the drama pure was in the length of the dresses that came up almost like the capes. The drama was toned down with the suede boots and the silhouette was secured with the sheer belt!
Oh, talking about the silhouette, there is something so special about the silhouette by Pierpaolo Piccioli. It is full of drama yet so comprehensive and relatable! It is fluent and flowy but strict and clear. The choice of the textures goes in that way. Most of the materials were in the satin niche going perfectly with the concept of the resort. The highlight of this collection in this sense was definitely the ling dress with a big white star and the little black ones featuring the white-light pink-black stripes as a layout. The streamy character was pointed with the ruffles around the coral and sleek midi-sleeves!
The character of the pieces could be saturated in the both daily as in the nightwear gear. The simplicity of the forms that are still very couture and dramatic. Just enough for anyone who likes to dress up! The olive green in the swiping length dress could be put more in the night out glam but on the other hand, the jeans outfit with the flare pants and a minimalistic blouse underneath allows this collection to have even a pure daily flavor!
Of course, there were fringes, embellishments and all that glam. And still this collecttion looks so refined and simple! And that is the key of the design by Pierpaolo Piccioli! So recognizable and with the attitude! And there is nothing that we can not like about it!
What do you think about this collection? Do you like the signature design that Valentino has been serving lately?
