Effortless elegance! This has been definitely the direction in which Oscar de la Renta creative director duo Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia are going to. The high elegant eponymous that has left behind the legendary Mr. Oscar de la Renta himself has set the bar high but Kim and Garcia have found their way to deliver the perfect design that is modern yet in the codes of this grandiose fashion name. The Resort 2020 collection was on that kind of mannerism with classic cuts and approach that is purely feminine with the hints of modern edginess.
The sleek lines are something that Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia prefer. They are sleek and still very body fluent so the structure sense is nowhere to be seen. The first two outfits of this collection that was presented in the form of the simple editorial, were all blue monochrome ensembles. One the dress with the accentuated waist and the other in the same color with the ruffled blouse on the top and high waist trousers. To undertone the smart office look, this last outfit was paired with the white Smoking alike blazer.
The glamor that can be featured in everyday life is something that Oscar de la Renta as a fashion brand likes to nourish. So the exceptional are the dresses that even in this new era have been the most amazing parts of every collection. The all-white one with a deep cut on the front and cinched in the waistline. Paired with the statement bold golden necklace is definitely something that your favorite Pre-Spring dress should look like!
Or the dress with the dip-dye print all over in the white and blue. With the featured white attachment at the back giving that cape drama, with the meshed texture on the waist. The play with the forms, colors, and cuts is here inevitable but still so refined and on point! Or the light golden one in the chiffon edition that has looked really spectacular and glamorous yet so approachable and easy on body! Not to forget mentioning the IT color of this but as we can see and the next season, the bright yellow that was here in the form ruffled long dress with a similar cut detail on the cleavage as well as on the back.
Long dresses are definitely something that in Oscar de la Renta they have mastered. But there were amazing cocktail midi-dresses as the one in the coral color or the short and shorter mini dresses with the sweeping floor-detail attached on the side falling dramatically just to hold the pure glam on point. And to top it all, the long black siren dress with the naked shoulders made of micro-detailed lace. What a stunning way to round up the Resort collection.
What do you think about this collection? Which outfit do you like the most? Do you like the style of Oscar de la Renta lately?
