There is something so romantic when we talk about Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton! She has reigned this fashion brand and has made it her own style galaxy of fabulousness giving us the last retreat of what a great tailoring is all about! But that romantic touch is not simply and ordinary but edgy and sophisticated, as like if you would step into the old castle and be spelled with its magic! This sums up the essence of what Alexander McQueen has been lately!
The latest Spring/Summer 2020 collection was in all of these idioms but still fresh and admiration worthy! Sarah Burton likes to tell a story with her design, for her the fashion is more than just clothes and ensembles. It is the beauty of creating the things that speak about something. Yet, if you think you would find the tendentious factors in it, well you are wrong. It is everything spelled with the magic of refined design with the amazing details in every sense!
The first look was the white dress with the cotton-laced texture. The bulky puffy sleeves and the wide buckled belt were there just to give this whole romantic story an edgy spin. The version of the black suit in the direction by Sarah Burton is the pencil trousers with the peplum alike coat on the top. The heterogeneity index in this monochrome edition was in the form of the leathery features on the sleeves and ruffles on the peplum!
Talking about the jackets! The perfect structured ones where here, too! The grey one design to look like a cropped trench-coat was definitely the sharp touch to this very subtle formation of design! The pure subtle notes where definitely in the dresses that have been presented at the very end! From the aquarelle floral prints ones to the star of the collection, the simulacrum of the bride-gown and Le Smoking.
The oxymoronic sides that were composed in this whole story were simply breathtaking, from the delicate lace peeking and falling through to the black jacket that captured the whole beauty of this piece but this whole collection, too! Finishing with the great mini-dresses whose texture were the bladed ruffles. If anything can capture the "alma mater" of this collection, then these details are the perfect ones to be admired!
This collection has shown once again how amazing fashion can be! It can be delicate and up-front, brave and vulnerable! Still so on point, full of the story-telling inches that are here to capture us in their all spell! And what an amazing spell that is!
What do you think about this collection? Which piece do you like the most? Do you find it more edgy or rather romantic?
Thank you for your attention!
