FASHION WONDERLAND BY COMME DES GARCONS

It is a tough world the world of fashion. It is difficult to embrace the inner designer and creative strives with trends and market because let´s be real fashion is here to be sold. So the fact that any fashion house can go far from the fashion mainstream and be rocking its own design world is really respectable.

The same thing we can say about Comme Des Garcons fashion house. With Rei Kawakubo on the lead, it has become a synonym for different, for magical, for bold and wonders worthy. And with all of that to become the part of the fashion mainstream industry is really stunning and simply amazing. The fashion needs these kinds of creative minds that experiment and have a clear vision.

If you look at the latest Spring/Summer 2018 Ready-To-Wear Collection by Comme Des Garcons you will see that something is bouncing from the usual fashion looks. It is very much in Haute Couture field displayed with over exaggerated sculpted silhouettes which are not easy to wear. But here the wearable factor is not important. It is the overall design which is unusual, rich with so many design visions and successfully realizations.

The one thing that stands out if beside the silhouette are the prints. The prints are very playful, almost in Dadaism kind of way. The spectrum goes from traditional Renaissance ones towards the pop culture ones in the shape of Japanese strip heroes. But the exotic and avant-garde touch goes even further. The hair which was composed like a pharaon sculpted headpieces. So as you can see the eclectic touches go to the fullest undertoning the design motto of Comme Des Garcons; Be brave or go home!

This collection has shown how fashion pushes its own boundaries. How is opened for the new and unexpected and how fashion loves innovations. With original idea which is well done and realized in tailoring sense, this collection is a pure prove that being original can work in fashion mainstream. You just need to embrace it as your MOJO and never let go! This is what Comme Des Garcons have been doing for so long! And we simply love it!

What do you think about the experimental approach of this collection?  How do you like the ensembles? Do you find them inspiring?

Thank you for the attention!
