THE BIG PREMIERE AT CAROLINA HERRERA

It was The Collection of his life! We could easily say about the Spring/Summer 2019 Ready To Wear collection by Wes Gordon for Carolina Herrera. If we don´t count the Resort collection he has made only a few months before, this was a big day and premiere for this anthological fashion house which has been the most important label of the American fashion. These days, many fashion houses have transitioned the new designers so seems like the fashion has been coming into the new era in so many ways. For Carolina Herrera, that transition was very successfully done so in this collection we have the mixture of the traditional and authentic Herrera style that is still boosted with the fresh design point of view which will definitely bring new and young costumers and consumers.

Seems like the inspiration for this collection Wes Gordon was free to unleash in whatever way and direction he wanted. So he decided that it would be an elegant choice of the amazing silky textures which nature dictates the flowy and light move. Here we can say that this was the point of a distinction where the ultimate Herrera silhouette was more cut loose and light fitted. The famous spin of the white and elegant blouse was definitely the lace edition of the same item with the one layered skirt. With the high summer boots, this style has definitely emerged as the modern and contemporary version of the famous Carolina Herrera style.

The high elegance and the mixed and blurred lines between the daily and nightwear could be definitely seen as the common thing but brought in the Wes Gordon mannerism. One thing that catches the eyes are definitely the colors and prints. Seems like we Gordon adores colors, especially the warm ones. So the coloristic range was on the same level still alluring the contemporary and the modern chic. With the two-colors approach in the typical Herrera style, he has definitely chosen the braver version which we need to applause.

The ultimate romantic zoom was definitely the uber voluminous dresses at the very end. There was one in all black and at the end the one with the big stripes and flower print. A stunning end of the collection, and the evocation of what the future in Herrera will look like. Bright, warm, funny and amazing! This collection was a true indicator of how to make a new chapter in the big fashion label. Respecting the tradition but with the brave design faith looking forward into the future!
