Hidden chaos, wrapped in the vibrant coloristic, ludicrous up-front parole-ism, witty and playful yet deep, stylistically on point and fresh! With these words, the latest collection for Spring 2019 by Jeremy Scott could be easily described. Jeremy Scott likes to stay on the playful side of the fashion mainstream but does not make his design mature enough. On contrary, his design speaks for itself in a non-pretentious way by the pretentious details and visual motifs. Just like in this collection where the bitter-sweet nostalgia has been felt and yet the new and fresh style statement has been said too!
Seems like for this collection the inspiration was the persona Jeremy Scott itself, and that was not in the style-wise by Scott but with his personal life too. The Polaroid photos from his youth in the nineties printed on the uber big hoodies, the neo-grungy inspiration in all-tartan mono looks in polychromatic versions. All of that has offered us the view of the exciting life of Jeremy Scott, and not just that! It has become a part of this collection which could be seen as the celebration of himself in non-selfish and beyond any ego-trip vibe. This collection seemed like a vivid artifact of one life which was and still is exciting in any possible way.
The direct seductive note is something which has been the constructive point of every collection made by Jeremy Scott. But it is quirky, playful and not taken too seriously. And in this collection, the same approach was kept. With the sexy mini skirts paired with the oversized tees, or the deep cut trousers on the top of originally formed shirts, the cool motorbike jackets. The sweet infantile version of stylized pajamas in cute pink and Peek-achoos. If anyone understands the modern and urban culture these days it is definitely Jeremy Scott in the fashion version of Andy Warhol he speaks about society and the problems in it but in a non-serious way. And here is the whole strength of his style and design concept!
Only this time the personas were not in the form of modern Marilyn Monroe, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Queen Elizabeth(...) No, this time his inspiration was himself and we must admit, he has once again made an iconic collection, aesthetically with strong references to LOVE, RIOT, FUTURE etc in the very polished way! Ask and you will be served! And indeed, we were served with once again iconic collection by Jeremy Scott!
What do you think about this collection? Do you like the nineties vibe of it? What do you think about the vibrant and bold colors and which ensemble do you like the most?
Thank you for the attention!
