GREEK GODDESS BY CHANEL

If someone has the inevitable and constant inspiration drive then that is defenitely Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel. His shows are always the pure festivity of fashion at its finest with all the "wowza" and glam spectacles. The Chanel Spring/Summer 2018 Resort Collection was more toned down on the specatacle part but it was the festivity of vivid design by Chanel.

It is interesting to see how classic texture originally known as a typically Chanel, a tweeed, has been incorporated in every collection by Chanel, re-vitalizing the very traditional aspect of the brand and bringing it into the new forms and frames. This time the inspiration was very classic, an antique greek tradition put in the Chanel story. The tweeded coats in short and longer forms were displayed in the of course more light textured version. The antique whisps were dominating on the shoes and on the head, just like the greek shaped eyeliner on the faces of the models too.

But lets go back to the clothes. The already mentioned tweed ensembles were amazing uvertire, with further show there were more easy and light fabriques like togas, long maxi airy dresses, stolas on the top of one piece swimming suits. This resort collection was the perfect inspiration for warm and hot days. With signature by Karl but with huge odesque torwards tradition, not just of Chanel but of the whole west civilization. Maybe this was a fashion indicator of political clime in Europe and world in general, or maybe just the urge to get back to the roots, to reset the design nature of Chanel.

What do you think about this collection?

Thank you for the attention!
