For everything there is a first time! And the first haute couture collection for Giambattista Valli, which he made in 2012. The collection was made for Spring/Summer season by which he officially stepped into the fashion elite society. If you wondering why this particular collection is on the blog today, the reason is to "re-vive" some of the anthologic haute couture collection and to show you how even today these haute couture collections are still fashionable, elegant and worth of every fashionista´s adoration. So let see more closer the first couture show by Giambattista Valli!
If you are introduced to fashion in general you know that Valli´s signature sign today are ruffles´ overload. He likes to add cotton candy sugar effect to his ensembles, in design sense. This first couture collection though was on the more simple side but never the less more elegant and refined. The silhouttes were flowy and light with accentuated waist or with very robust and voluminous upper parts and sleeves. The very fine embroidery and lace were common highlight with tons of silky ruffles and waves in which a hint of future visual and design occupation had been hidden as we can see today. The love for voluminosity was displayed defenitely in form of stunning ensembles in rich floral prints which were showed at the very end of the show. It was surely another indicator of Valli´s future couture trademark sign; a pure feminine approach with a trace of decadent and exaggeration.
The colors were mainly in black and white domain, interrupted by very vibrant coral red, fuchsia pink, or aubergine violet throughout the end! It was like the aesthetic crescendo; the very best pieces were left for the end! We can defenitely say that with this collection Giambattista Valli has bravely stepped into the couture society in which he is successful even today. Oh, can we just take a look at the see through effects which were main design point of this year´s couture shows! And the "wow" factor of this particular collection is totaly legit! Every piece of it could be highlight of any red carpet, reminding us how great "vintage" couture is! Haute couture is eternal, indeed!
What do you think about this collection?
Thank you for the attention!
